From Pilot to Project Leader.

Founded in 2017 by Tracy Stegner, Red Door Renovations brings your vision to life through expert craftsmanship, personalized design, and innovative solutions. Tracy will make sure no detail is overlooked. She’ll offer ideas if you want them or find creative ways to fulfill your vision. This talented lady can fly a plane, bake a 10-tier wedding cake ,and paint a wall. She’ll also go to the ends of the earth to make sure you’re elated.

That same spirit of care and commitment is reflected in the name: Red Door Renovations. In Feng Shui, the front door is called the “Mouth of Chi,” the entry point for positive energy. In early American tradition, a red door signaled a safe, welcoming place for weary travelers to rest. These meanings reflect our values—creating not just beautiful spaces, but homes filled with warmth, welcome, and purpose. Rooted in devout Christian principles, our mission is about more than renovation—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives and homes of those we serve.

Tracy Stegner

Founder & Project Manager

Hello, I'm Tracy Stegner, founder of Red Door Renovations. I've always been someone who enjoys building and creating. My career path has been anything but typical—I'm a commercial pilot who flew chartered business jets, a pastry chef who has created elaborate wedding cakes, and I've taken on countless other hands-on creative challenges. These experiences have shaped the precision, creativity, and determination I bring to every remodeling project.

With over 11 years of experience in the field, I collaborate with our designer, project manager, and homeowners to bring their vision to life through thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, and clear communication. I'm very friendly, take a resourceful approach to each remodel, and am big on attention to detail! I take pride in helping to make the remodeling process as smooth and collaborative as possible. I want clients to love both the experience and the space they come home to!

I'm a wife, mother to two grown young men, and stepmother to my husband Shawn's four children. I enjoy going to classic car shows with my family (I have a 63 Ford Fairlane), going to the movies, and still love baking every chance I get. I hope to return to flying one day soon too.

Project Manager & Estimator

 Shawn Wight is a project manager and general contractor with Red Door Renovations, bringing strong leadership and over 20 years of hands-on construction experience to residential remodeling projects throughout Minnesota. He specializes in managing projects from planning through completion, coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship for every client.


Shawn has experience in a wide range of projects including kitchen and bathroom remodels, basement finishes, structural renovations, and whole-home transformations. Outside of work, Shawn is a dedicated family man rooted in faith. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their children—Colton, McKenzie, Raelyn, and their one-year-old son Beckham—as well as traveling with his family, snowmobiling in the winter, and spending time with their pets.
